About the Event
Laying comfortably on a yoga mat wrapped in a blanket, the sound waves of the gongs gently begin to flood your being as we settle into relaxation. The brain waves begin to slow down as the body absorbs the healing vibrations emanating from the gongs. Every cell, muscle, organ and fibre of our entire being begins to respond to the frequencies and vibrations as they become entrained by the powerful tones, restoring harmony, balance and coherence within as the stress of life’s challenges can cause us to become unbalanced, creating incoherence within and disrupting the flow of life force energy and if left, this can manifest into negativity, illness and dis-ease.
As we continue to bathe in the powerful sound waves, the bodies natural healing abilities are enabled and the release of stuck energy can occur, releasing us from the grip of past emotional traumas and attachments as blockages are dispelled and dispersed. Altered states of consciousness can be reached, changing perception and creating a more balanced outlook on life as our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual energies are aligned allowing the energy to flow optimally, thus preventing the onset of illness or dis-ease.
As we begin to relax, the first brainwave state to be reached is alpha, which is defined by frequencies between 8 and 12 Hz. Alpha brainwaves are associated with creativity and feelings of relaxation. In this state, people experience daydreams, associative thinking and an animated imagination. This state is quickly followed by an influx of theta brainwaves, which fall between 4 and 7 Hz. Normally, the theta brainwave state is associated with deep meditation, hypnosis and REM sleep.
Sound healing has been proven to alleviate all manner of physical and emotional imbalances, including fibromyalgia, digestive issues, autoimmune disorders, PTSD, and its symptoms of grief, anger, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and insomnia, as well as Parkinson’s disease, autism, and more. It also provides a noticeable boost to the immune system.
